The Hon, Aileen Carroll, Ontario Minister of Culture was on hand for the formal launch of Knowledge Ontario’s askON on line research and virtual reference service at the OLA Super Conference. Using this service all Ontarians can chat in real time with expert library staff to find the information they are looking for. askON, in its first phase, is a collaboration of 10 public and 7 post-secondary libraries. askON offers 40 hours a week of chat reference service to public library visitors (including 10 hours in French) and over 60 hours a week to post-secondary students.
