It makes it easier to access the resources available in Ontario.
Sue Plouffe , Waterloo Public Library
I work directly with OurOntario.ca and this is a phenomenal resource. I can't imagine it not being available to the public. We have enquiries from all over the world.
askOn is another valuable resource for student researchers. It's really a shame that these amazing resources may no longer be available to the public!
Nicole Adams , Oshawa Public Libraries
The services and resources made possible by Knowledge Ontario have been invaluable to our library. We are part of AskON; we benefit from the research databases which were bought by KO for the benefit of public libraries; we use the indexing software through OurOntario to organize and make available online information and local history resources, such as newspapers indexes and digitizing and cataloguiing historical photographs. It would be an enormous shame to have spent all this time developing these reources only to have them disappear.
Greg Harris , SCDSB
The teacher librarians at my board, Simcoe County DSB, have made amazing inroads with bringing safe, valid and relevant database information to students. Students love how it is easy to find relevant and readable information compared to results typically found in Google type searches.
Please please please continue the funding.
Marcy Mac Donald , Barrie North Collegiate
It is an extremely valuable resource for school libraries. The database helps to teach students the value of databases vs. the internet. We use the databases frequently at our high school.
Robert Oldham , Hamilton Public Library
I believe it is good source of reliable information to children, teens and adults throughout Ontario using professional staff.

I am a mature student taking my courses online. The databases available through Knowledge Ontario are an essential compliment to my studies. In addition, the virtual AskON reference desk, is a fabulous service. The librarians are friendly, knowledgeable, and highly skilled at guiding me to the resources I need. I hope to see government support for the Knowledge Ontario program to continue.

Cultural history belongs to all of us and is integral to our understanding of who we are as a province, and how we relate to the rest of Canada and the world. A central repository makes our stories more accessible, enhancing our sense of place and facilitating research.
